SpectrumSpectrum Generations Family Caregiver Education and Support Group will meet on Thursday August 7, 2014 from 1:00-2:30 pm at Sebasticook Valley Health in the Leighton Street Conference Room, located at 130 Leighton Street, Pittsfield. This group provides a confidential setting for those family members, friends and neighbors who are, or have been caring for someone. The Community Health and Education department at Sebasticook Valley Health will offer a Heartsaver Infant/Child/Adult CPR and AED class at the SVH Leighton Street conference room in Pittsfield. The class will be held on Monday August 11th from 5:30-9:00 p.m. The class fee is $50.00. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Dr. James E. Fullwood Jr, DPM will be the guest speaker at the August 14, 2014 Diabetes Support Group meeting. Dr. Fullwood will speak on foot ailments related to diabetes and proper foot care. A Health Care Provider BLS class will be offered on Friday August 15th from
8:30 a.m. 3:00 pm in the Sebasticook Valley Health Leighton Street Conference room. This class is for the health care professional who is required to have a Healthcare Provider Certification. CPR skills for adult, infant and children, use of the AED, rescue from choking and use of bag-mask devices are included. This is not a renewal course; it is designed for new certification. This class is designed to empower you with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to make healthy and affordable meals. With the help of a nutrition educator and culinary instructor, you will learn to plan balanced meals and prepare them in healthy ways. Each class we will cook and enjoy a meal together and all participants will take home the ingredients to make the meal at home!
